UNION CITY, Ga. — Channel 2 Action News has obtained a key document that sheds new light on the shooting death of a local student at his family's Union City home.

Former Ron Clark Academy standout Ryan Marshall died from a gunshot wound to the chest weeks ago.

Union City Police are saying very little as they still search for whomever shot and killed Marshall in his home.

Through an open records request, Channel 2 Action News obtained Marshall's autopsy report. It shows he died from a gunshot wound to the chest.

It also provides details of the police investigation, saying after Marshall's mother heard noises outside the home, she saw several males trying to carjack her husband.

Marshall's mother says she got a revolver and went outside to fire one shot in the air.

The report says Marshall's mother told police a man began shooting at her and her son.

However, the report also says the glass is blown out of the vehicle from the inside, and the revolver was fired twice, not once.

The chain of events were not matching the story parents told police.

The medical examiner's notes on what happened in Marshall's driveway came straight from Union City's police chief.

Neighbors would not go on camera, because the shooter is still on the loose.
