CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — Cherokee County Sheriff’s detectives have arrested a Woodstock man accused of shooting his son-in-law after a Tuesday morning altercation.
Tony McDowell, 47, allegedly shot Kamoana Hopeau in the back as he ran from McDowell’s home at Bascomb Carmel Road.
Hopeau, a Blue Ridge resident, was discharged from Kennestone Hospital after being treated for the gunshot wound.
McDowell, who is charged with aggravated assault, is in custody at the Cherokee Adult Detention Center without bond.
