PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. — Channel 2 Action News has learned more about a woman killed by her husband in Paulding County.
Deputies are investigating the case as a murder-suicide.
According to investigators, 41-year-old Rockwell Thelmon Serrabo called an ex-girlfriend after he shot and killed his wife, 44-year-old Nicole Thomas, inside their home because he didn't want her kids to come home from school and find her dead.
Channel 2's Steve Gehlbach learned Thomas worked for a health and wellness business. Thomas is also a registered nurse who worked at WellStar Hospital in Paulding County.
The couple do not have children together but do have kids from previous relationships.
Sarabbo called an ex-girlfriend and told her he was going to Sandtown Park in Fulton County to kill himself. His SUV was found there, and his body found hours later in the woods nearby.
Investigators say the husband no longer lived with his wife, and she recently started the divorce process.
"We don't know to the extent of what problems they had, but obviously from what occurred yesterday they had some domestic type problems," said Paulding County Cpl. Ashley Henson.
Thomas has a son who goes to nearby Hiram High School. He was there at the time of the murder and no one else was in the home.
