ATLANTA — Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines announced Wednesday that it would match contributions for Trump Accounts of its employees’ children.
Delta was the second airline to make an announcement, in as many days, after American Airlines announced it would match the $1,000 contributions from the federal government for children born between 2025 and 2028.
Following Delta’s announcement, the White House shared the news, saying “Trump Accounts are taking off.”

Delta said the contribution for its employees’ children was just another of its investments in their people.
“Delta people have made it clear they want to take advantage of every opportunity to build a solid financial foundation for themselves and their families,” said E.V.P. and Chief People Officer Allison Ausband. “This match is the latest in our ongoing commitment to invest in our people and their financial wellbeing through profit sharing, base pay raises, our Emergency Savings Program and more.”
The company said it would be investing an estimated $18 billion in our people this year through its “Total Rewards” program, which includes financial wellness resources, rainy day fund earning opportunities and its much-reported on profit sharing program, which paid $1.3 billion in February.
The Atlanta airline said that was a bigger contribution to employee profits “than the rest of the airline industry combined.”
