ATLANTA — Travelers at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport are reacting to the arrest of a Delta agent, Haydee Angelica Garcia, for trafficking cocaine.

The 51-year-old employee was taken into custody by Clayton County police after they say two kilograms of cocaine were found in the airport agent's luggage in September.

Sources tell Channel 2 Action News Garcia was stopped by Customs Border Protection while traveling from Peru.

Delta says the agent was fired immediately after her arrest.

Delta released the following statement:

"Delta takes matter of this nature very seriously and we cooperated fully with authorities."

Clayton County police only commented on the case to say it's part of an on-going investigation.

Garcia also faces state drug charges. Travelers we talked to were surprised this type of activity still goes on with security measures in place after 9-11.

"You see something go away we put our guard down and it comes right back so this could be the start of this happening again," traveler Mike Derr said.

A Clayton County clerk says this case is set to be brought before a grand jury.
