DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — UPDATE: The restaurant received an 81 upon reinspection.

---------------------

A Steak ‘n Shake in DeKalb County got a failing score on its DeKalb County Board of  Health inspection.

The restaurant at the Toco Hill Shopping Center on North Druid Hills Road scored a 59 on Wednesday. According to the DeKalb County Board of Health, a score of 69 or less is unsatisfactory.

“I used to eat there. I stopped, though. That’s pretty bad,” former customer Jasmine Blake said.

Violations included gnats and flies over the milkshake cooler, ice machine and dish area, cold-held food not held cold enough and grounded sausage not cooled properly.

Additionally, the final dish-washing rinse didn’t have required chlorine.

The restaurant scored an 84 on its last inspection in March. It will be reinspected in September.

Management told Channel 2’s Carol Sbarge it had no comment.

Channel 2 Action News contacted Steak ‘n Shake headquarters for comment and did not get a response.
