DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A busy metro Atlanta Waffle House has failed a recent health inspection. It is located at LaVista Road and Northlake Parkway in Tucker.

Channel 2’s Carol Sbarge told Shonda Johnson the Waffle House got a score of 66 on Monday.

Johnson goes there often with her children.

She says that score is not good for that type of business. Another customer said that score was horrible.

Violations included chocolate milk and half and half not held cold enough, a dish machine not sanitizing at a high enough temperature and cooked steak stored under raw bacon and raw sausage. %

When Sbarge went to the Waffle House on LaVista Road she was told to contact the corporate office. Spokesperson Kelly Thrasher-Bruner said in a statement that they make every effort to provide a clean and safe restaurant for customers and apologize for letting them down.

The email statement went on to say, “Our corporate training department and the senior management are involved in ensuring our food safety protocols are in place in this restaurant. Most of the violations were corrected at the time of the inspection.”

Sbarge asked customer Johnson if she’d bring her family back. She said "'Maybe," since it is the only one close to her home. In the previous inspection, before the 66 score, this Waffle House had a score of 90.

We’ll let you know the new score when it is reinspected.
