DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A man barricaded himself inside a DeKalb County home for hours before he surrendered to a SWAT team.
Channel 2’s Darryn Moore learned from family members that the suspect was wanted for violating his parole.
We first took you to the scene for the breaking news Wednesday on WSB Tonight and followed it until the situation ended live on Channel 2 Action News This Morning starting at 4:30 a.m.
Police identified the suspect as Tobias Starks. Police said Starks barricaded himself with a rifle inside a home on Monitor Court near Flat Shoals Road.
A family member of Starks said the house belongs to the man’s mother.
The family member told Moore that the suspect has a history of violence and has threatened to kill his mother in the past.
The man surrendered to SWAT. He was the only person inside the house.
