DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Police are working to track down a serial burglar before he strikes again

They said he has already hit several homes in a DeKalb County neighborhood.

Police said the thief cased one home on Cress Way Drive six times before breaking in. They say that is perhaps the scariest aspect to the crimes.

“He's creating fear in the neighborhood if someone came to your house that many times you would be spooked and worried looking for this guy," Sgt. Louis Pierre with the DeKalb County Police Department said.

Police said they think he has broken into at least three homes in one neighborhood, but it is one house he keeps coming back to that has detectives most concerned.

DeKalb County police said they caught the burglar on camera six different times, and they said he was casing one house.

Investigators said he eventually broke in through the garage, stealing from the homeowner, breaking a window and disabling another camera.

“He got a lawnmower, a helmet, ladder, a green machine, it seems like he's taking anything he can get his hands on," said Sgt. Pierre.

Detectives said they called K-9’s out to search thinking he was still in the area, but did not find anything.
