Stonecrest Mall placed on lockdown after reports of gunfire

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — DeKalb County police are responding to reports of a shooting at The Mall at Stonecrest.

Police confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that they were called to the mall regarding a possible shooting around 12:40 p.m.

DKPD said a few individuals ran away from the scene but were later detained.

According to authorities, DKPD said they have not located a shooting victim at this time. One person was found with non-fatal injuries and was taken to a local hospital, police said.

The mall has been evacuated and is currently on lockdown while officers secure the scene and investigate what happened.

Officers say that due to the size of the mall, they expect this to take a few hours.
