Road collapses after driver hits fire hydrant causing water main break in Chamblee

CHAMBLEE, Ga. — Officials are working round the clock to fix a water main break that shut down roads in DeKalb County.

Crews with the DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management are working to repair a water main break that was damaged Sunday morning in Chamblee.

Authorities said a driver hit a fire hydrant, causing the westbound and eastbound lanes of Chamblee Tucker Road at West Hospital Avenue to be shut down.

According to officials, the water to the fire hydrant has been shut off and no residents are without water service.
