DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Four sisters from Kansas spoke with Channel 2 Action News on Friday night about their father, who was recently murdered outside a DeKalb County convenience store.

It happened Sunday in the 6300 block of Memorial Drive in Stone Mountain.

"We miss him. Yeah, we miss him." one of Timothy Newhouse's daughters, Paris Walker, told Channel 2's Rikki Klaus. "The way he died. It's terrible, devastating."

The 54-year-old had five children and seven grandchildren.

The lead detective walked Klaus through new surveillance video, taken inside the store. Police said the suspect and Newhouse got in an argument.

“As soon as he walks out, boom, he shoots at the victim one, two times, striking the victim in the chest, and then he runs to the left side of the building,” Detective D.R. Ward said.

Newhouse died on the scene. Jasmine Rinehart said finding the shooter won't bring her dad back.

"It won’t make the sadness go away, but at least we can know that justice was served and that person was punished for killing a great man,” Rinehart said.

The sisters described Newhouse as a loving dad, and avid musician. They said he left Kansas to make it big on the Atlanta music scene.

“He was our dad. You only get one, and we loved him in spite of all his faults. All the things that he wanted to do. We just loved him for who he was and the spirit that he carried and we would just say that we miss him,” Walker said.

A stray bullet also hit a woman nearby in the foot. Police said the gunman may have had an accomplice.

Ward has a message for the gunman.

"We are working on this, and we will catch you,” Ward said.

Officers urge anyone who recognizes the suspect to call them at 404-577-8477.
