A DeKalb County gas station remains closed as the Georgia Bureau of Investigation investigating a police shooting.

Channel 2′s Berndt Petersen was at the scene, where crime scene tape blocked off the parking lot.

The shooting happened around 6:30 a.m. Sunday morning at the QuikTrip station in the 3800 block off North Decatur Road.

No officers were injured. Police have asked people in the area to avoid the scene as the investigation continues.

The GBI said a man pulled out a knife at the station and moved toward the officer. The officer fired shots and hit the man. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

This is the 43rd officer-involved shooting the GBI has been requested to investigate so far this year.
