DEKALB COUNTY, Ga — DeKalb County announced it is reopening the county’s program to provide relief to tenants and landlords affected by the pandemic.
Tenant-Landlord Assistance Coalition has distributed $52.8 million for rent and utilities to almost 4,900 DeKalb families, according to a news release.

The program is designed to provide financial relief to DeKalb renters threatened by eviction and landlords facing revenue losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the county, the program is designed to assist eligible families that have an annual family income of 80 percent of the median income for DeKalb County. Annual family income limits are:
Family of one: $46,350
Family of two: $52,950
Family of three: $59,550
Family of four: $66,150
The program provides financial assistance to eligible households looking for help paying for rent, utilities, and other housing costs incurred due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Funds for the program cannot be used for the payment of mortgage assistance, cable or telephone bills.
The program is funded by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, from which Georgia was $354 million.
