NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. — A four-vehicle wreck shut down I-20 in both directions for almost two hours in Newton County on Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.
A news release from the Georgia State Patrol said an investigation revealed a Nissan Titan traveling west on I-20 struck a Chevrolet Impala from behind, causing the Impala to cross the grass median into eastbound traffic.
A Saturn Vue traveling east on I-20 lost control when attempting to miss the Impala and overturned multiple times, GSP said. A Subaru Legacy traveling east on I-20 then struck the Impala.
