Person hit, killed by vehicle on I-75/85; lanes reopen

ATLANTA — A deadly crash investigation shut down all lanes of Interstate 75/85 northbound for hours on Thursday.

Triple Team Traffic’s Mike Shields reported on Channel 2 Action News This Morning that the crash happened just before 5 a.m. near North Avenue exit. Police vehicles arrived to the crash site within minutes.

Investigators later confirmed to Shields that a person was hit by a vehicle. The victim, only identified as a 33-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The lanes were shut down for more than three hours as police investigated. Lanes started to reopen before 8:30 a.m. and fully reopened at 8:38 a.m.
