Keith got out of the car and police said Causey reached inside and started to choke her. Keith fought back, hitting Thornton in the mouth. When he kept choking her, Keith pulled out a gun and fired two shots into the air.

Causey released Keith, walked in front of the car and waited for police.

Keith sustained injuries consistent with being choked. No one was injured by the gunfire.

Causey was arrested for aggravated assault and is being held at the Coweta County Jail. He also faces additional charges for giving police a false name.

It’s unclear if Causey knew the victim.
