COWETA COUNTY, Ga. — Many sheriff departments expect certain types of calls, but this particular one wasn’t what they planned for.

An injured hawk didn’t exactly call 911, but he did get some help from the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office on Monday.

The sheriff’s office Facebook page stated that several people called to say a hawk had been hit by a car around Poplar Road.

The hawk calmed down and seemed to be OK once Deputy Sheriff Claycomb wrapped him up in his rain jacket.
The deputy held onto him until the Department of Natural Resources could get there.
