Could Atlanta see snow this week?

ATLANTA — Channel 2's Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologists are continuing to update the latest forecast that shows possible rain/snow mix heading for metro Atlanta this week.

Severe Weather Team 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said the risk for snow or a rain/snow mix continues for Tuesday evening as an arctic air mass moves in. Ground temperatures are in the 50s in the mountains and 60s in metro Atlanta. That means most, if not all the snow that falls will melt once it reaches the ground.

With this arctic air moving in, we will see much colder temperatures beginning Wednesday with highs in the 40s, then dropping into the 20s by Thursday morning.
