- The number of coronavirus cases confirmed in Georgia is up to 485. There are now 14 deaths.
- Tybee Island and several Georgia beaches are now closed to keep crowds from mingling.
- All Department of Driver Services (DDS) licensing centers statewide are closed through March 31 2020.
- The Georgia Department of Public Health says they will now release numbers twice a day at noon and 7 p.m. as more tests come through.
- Gov. Kemp says the state has taken action to get more coronavirus tests to hospitals.
- Kemp said at this time, he has no plans to issue a statewide quarantine. California’s governor issued one late Thursday night.
- 2nd TSA worker at Atlanta airport tests positive for coronavirus.
- Another plane of cruise ship passengers has arrived at the Atlanta airport. The passengers are waiting to be screened.
- Sen. Kelly Loeffler is accused of selling off stocks ahead of the market crash. She calls the report a “baseless attack.”
- Athens-Clarke County passed a 24/7 mandatory shelter in place order. There are some exceptions to the ordinance for “essential activities”.
- The City of College Park has declared a State of Emergency. Restaurants and bars are required to close no later than 10 p.m.
- An executive order went into effect at midnight closing dine-in restaurants, gyms, movie theaters and other entertainment venues in Atlanta. Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms also signed an order Friday that would allow restaurants to sell alcohol with take out orders during this period.
- The city of Woodstock will also allow restaurants to sell alcohol with take out orders.
- The Georgia Department of Driver Services will close 11 locations: Atlanta, Athens, Cedartown, Calhoun, Decatur, Griffin, Lawrenceville, Macon, LaGrange, Rock Spring and Warner Robins. The department says to check its website for updates.
- Atlanta Public Schools said it has its first confirmed case of coronavirus. The district said the employee had no exposure to other students or staff. The employee has been directed to self-quarantine.
