GEORGIA — There are now 1,643 confirmed coronavirus cases and 56 deaths in the state of Georgia. The Georgia Department of Public Health said 509 people have been hospitalized with the virus.

These numbers are up from 1,387 confirmed cases, 438 hospitalizations and 47 deaths reported Wednesday.

There have been 7,302 tests completed by commercial labs with 1,390 positive COVID-19 cases. Georgia Public Health Laboratory has completed 1,646 tests with 253 positive cases.

According to the state’s data, 57 percent of cases are people ages 18 to 59, 35 percent are people ages 60 or older, 7 percent are of unknown ages and 1 percent are between the ages of 0 and 17.
The confirmed cases are 46 percent men and 50 percent women, 4 percent unknown.
