COBB COUNTY, Ga — Jennifer Moody believes to do a job well, you have to learn the ropes. She did. “Me and my husband were foster parents for almost 10 years. We’ve had over 90 children,” Moody said. As the director of the non-profit Foster4Love in Kennesaw, she knows what many foster parents need. Diapers. “We have a lot of ‘littles.’ That’s not something that is covered by the state. Our foster parents cover it out of their own pockets,” Moody said.

Her charity provides, but the stock often runs very low for an item that was very expensive even before the current age of inflation.

“It’s a lot. Diapers and wipes are a lot,” Michelle Clarke said. Clarke and her colleagues at the Primrose School of Wade Green, a daycare just down the street, launched a “Diaper Drive.” It’s the fourth year in a row to help Foster4Love. Clarke says lots of foster children have come through the daycare over the years, so they know what the parents are going through. They reached out to Primrose families, and they delivered. They donated more than 4,000 diapers and wipes. “They never hesitated to bring in the diapers when we asked them,” Clarke said.

It’s even been a teachable moment about giving for all the Primrose kids. Back at Foster4Love, Moody says folks have no idea how much this will help. “It shows them the community cares and they’re wrapping their arms around them. We always say, even if you can’t foster, you can do something. This shows our foster families the community is supporting them and giving them a little financial relief,” Moody said.
