COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A police officer rescued five children who were left in a hotel room surrounded by needles and drugs.
An arrest warrant Channel 2's Ross Cavitt obtained said police responded after a call of a disturbance at an Extended Stay hotel on the 2000 block of Roswell Road in Marietta.
Police said they knocked on the door and were let in on Monday at 12:13 a.m.
Cavitt was told by police they found drugs, needles, trash and discarded food throughout the room. There was only a small bag of chips for the children to share, the warrant stated.
Police found a couple, Sanchez Torone Lampkin and Tiffany Nicole Mathis, and five children in the small room, which was “in complete disarray."

Aisha McGowan was staying next door and said the early morning commotion in the hallway woke her up.
She found police lining the hallway, her two neighbors in handcuffs and five young children lined up.
“To hear kids screaming like that, I still have the kids screaming in my ears -- that’s horrible," McGowan said.
Both Lampkin and Mathis were arrested on multiple charges.
