PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. — A Paulding County woman shared a sweet story of strangers helping strangers during the coronavirus pandemic.
Carol Burton Largent said she went to a local Sam’s Club in Hiram to try to buy toilet paper for her aging parents.
Days earlier, people had attacked each other with wine bottles as people swarmed the store due to coronavirus fears and police had to shut the store down.
Largent said when she pulled into the parking lot, she pulled in next to a woman loading up her car.
"I asked her if they had any toilet paper left and she said no, it was all gone. Then she proceeded to open her pack of toilet paper and gave me 24 rolls without even thinking about it," Largent said.
Largent said she told the woman she didn't have any cash.
“I don’t need your cash, God put you here for a reason," Largent said the woman said.
“THIS is what we should be doing,” Largent wrote on Facebook. “I should have gotten her name. Mom, I got you some toilet paper.”
Largent said she knows the photo is not a good example of social distancing, but “I hugged her without even thinking. And YES, I’m washing my hands.”
Largent’s post has been shared over 1,000 times on Facebook.
