Marietta City Council will take up a proposal to ban smoking and vaping in parts of the square on Monday.

Channel 2′s Audrey Washington was in Marietta, where if the ordinance changes, smoking will be off-limits at restaurant tables outside and also on all sidewalks, streets and back alleys around the square.

The city’s judicial and legislative committee voted to move forward with the plan a few days ago.

“I’m a smoker, but I can see how it would bother some families with young kids,” Fiorenzo said.

Washington talked to smoker Vinny Fiorenzo about what he thinks about the new rules.

If the council moves forward with the ban, there will be another hurdle to deal with, like deciding which sidewalks will be included in the plan.
