MARIETTA, Ga. — Marietta neighbors will give you the shirts off their backs, or they’ll at least donate so you can get a new one, according to a study from GoFundMe.
The crowdsourcing platform has named the cities across the country that donated the most money in 2022.
The Cobb County city is at the top of the list.

According to GoFundMe, over 10,000 Marietta natives donated between $21 and $50 last year. Some of their favorite stories to donate to involved animals and children. They donated $73,000 to support animals and helped fund more than 100 adoptions.
To celebrate their generosity, GoFundMe and the City of Marietta are teaming up for a fun-filled day featuring an art exhibit, giveaways, photo opportunities and a community concert at Glover Park on Friday, August 25 at 7 p.m.

Marietta wasn’t the only metro Atlanta city that made the list. Alpharetta came in at number seven.
For the state as a whole, Georgia ranked seventh. Vermont was named the most generous state.
