COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Dozens of people lost everything as a fire tore through a Cobb County apartment complex this week, but one family is grateful to still have their cat.
Firefighters rescued Crybaby when the Lake Crossing Apartments on Riverside Parkway in Austell went up in flames Thursday morning.
New video from the morning of the fire shows Crybaby the cat perched on the charred remains of a portion of the building.

Firefighters were able to climb a ladder up to the cat and get him down before reuniting him with her family.
Her owners say they named her Crybaby because when she eats, she cries.

Channel 2′s Steve Gehlbach reported live from the scene on Channel 2 Action News This Morning as crews worked to extinguish small hot spots.
NewsChopper 2 flew over what was left of the building after the fire was put out.
Nearly 60 people will be forced to start over with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
Luckily, no one was injured in the fire.
