COBB COUNTY, Ga. — SunTrust Park reached another milestone ahead of the Atlanta Braves' 2017 season.

Crews are planting the field turf at the park Saturday.

Single game tickets for the Braves 2017 season go on sale March 10.

The Braves said the new ballpark is on schedule to open in time for Opening Day 2017. It is located at the intersection of Interstates 75 and 285 in Cobb County, north of Atlanta.

The Braves' first exhibition game is set for March 31.

In the past two weeks, the park received its occupancy permit for the 41,000-seat stadium.

The Battery Atlanta development near the stadium will house nearly 20 new restaurants and retail spaces.

Word of the Braves plans to leave southeast Atlanta broke in November 2014. The team previously played at Turner Field, a stadium constructed for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.

Cobb County commissioners unanimously approved the deal in May. The agreement allowed the county to borrow nearly $400 million to build the stadium, which the Braves will stay in for at least 30 years.
