COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Neighbors were surprised to hear a woman was robbed and sexually assaulted at gunpoint in her home.
Police told Channel 2 Cobb County Bureau Chief Michele Newell that the suspect and victim knew one another and the attack wasn’t random.
Neighbors told her that doesn’t make it less shocking.
“We lookout for each other whenever something goes on,” one neighbor said.

They say they had no idea that their neighbor was in danger until detectives showed up last week asking questions.
“They acted like it wasn’t that much of a big deal because they didn’t say whether her house was robbed, whether she was in there,” one neighbor who asked to remain anonymous said.
This arrest warrant details what police are calling a targeted attack that involved armed robbery, rape, kidnapping and other violent crimes.
“That is just something that’s horrible and disgusting,” neighbor Catrina Bean said.

Police say Patrick Reese showed up to the victim’s house, robbed her and sexually assaulted her at gunpoint before forcing her to drive him 17 miles away to a bank in College Park to get more money.
“Of course I feel bad. You know, that shouldn’t happen to any women. I don’t care what she’s done,” a neighbor said.
“They should be held accountable for their actions,” Bean said.
Reese is charged with five felonies. The U.S. Marshal’s Service will take him into custody.
