COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Four cities are under consideration to be added to Cobb County, city officials told Channel 2 Action News.
Three of the cities are on the May ballot with Mableton as the fourth option being considered.
Blighted properties with roofs caved in and dangling wires are concerning to residents such as Tre Hutchins, member of the South Cobb Alliance.

The alliance is a bipartisan group wanting to see less underdeveloped, vacant properties and more redevelopment instead.

They also want control of three of the 13 services the county provides including zoning and code enforcement.
“Our African American population has increased tremendously; our Latin community has increased tremendously but making sure that we have the quality of life that helps support the people that currently lives in this area is important,” Hutchins said.
Voters will make the final decision in November.
If they vote yes, the South Cobb Alliance says taxes won’t increase.
