Police believe Sydney Watson was under the influence when she hit Richard Sirota, 56. Sirota was on his way back to a nearby Dominos Pizza after making a delivery.

He died this week from his injuries.

"I think it was a senseless death. I mean, the poor guy was simply on his way back to work," witness Samantha White said.

White pulled out of her driveway and saw the crash a few yards away.

"It was a very, very bad wreck. Very bad. I didn't think Ritchie was alive when I got over to his car," she said.

She said she recognized Sirota because he had delivered pizzas to her house before.

White said Watson was standing around after the crash.

"I kind of took it she was in shock, but she didn't come over to his car to offer any help or anything," she said.

An arrest warrant said police officers noticed a smell of alcohol on Watson's breath when they first arrived. Police also found a half-empty bottle of vodka in the passenger seat of her car.

Watson is being held in jail without bond.
