CHARLOTTE, N.C. -
Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was released from Carolinas Medical Center Wednesday around 11:20 a.m., a team spokesperson said.
Panthers public relations coordinator Charlie Dayton said Newton's spirits were high.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police released a crash report on the accident involving Newton.

In the report, police name the other driver involved in the crash as Nestor Pellot Jr., 46.
According to the report, nobody was cited in the crash.

Pellot Jr. told police he didn’t see Newton’s truck approaching on South Church Street, and as he began crossing Church Street he collided with Newton’s truck, the report states.
Newton told police he was driving down South Church Street when the other vehicle pulled out in front of him and collided into his truck, the report states.
The report states Newton told police he tried to maneuver to avoid the collision, but couldn’t.
The report states Newton’s truck rolled over, but does not say how many times.

A witness who was driving behind Pellot said he saw Pellot pull out in front of Newton, the police report states. Another witness said he was driving behind Newton and saw Pellot’s vehicle pull out in front of Newton.
The intersection where the crash occurred -- South Church Street and West Hill Street near the ramp to John Belk Freeway westbound -- is listed as the fourth-worst intersection for accidents this year in Charlotte.

Panthers General Manager Dave Gettleman said, "I'm just thankful he was wearing a seatbelt and everyone involved is all right."
Gettleman said he still has no details of what happened or when Newton would return to action.
