CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — An investigator for the Clayton County district attorney has resigned over a controversial comment he made on the WSB-TV Facebook page

Investigator David Daniel left the following comment on a post about a 1-year-old boy who was shot over the weekend.

"Violence with guns is unfortunately a part of the black culture and will never get better until the government stops supporting them and they are taught to work for what they get and not take from others."

Stephanie Morgan was one of the people who responded to Daniel's comment. She says it was way out of line.

"It had nothing to do with the child when it should have been all about the child," Morgan said.

Clayton County District Attorney Tracy Graham Lawson said she was offended by the comment.

"My instant reaction was the employee could no longer work in our office," Lawson said.

Lawson gave Daniel a disciplinary notice advising him that he was suspended and she planned to fire him.

"We are going to tender to Mrs. Lawson a letter of resignation," Daniel's attorney, Keith Martin, said.

Martin said Daniel knows he made an outrageous statement and he deeply regrets it. He said Daniel was upset a child had been shot.
