CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Months after the remains of a man were found in Clayton County, police have identified him as a 25-year-old man from Illinois.
Officers found the decomposed remains off Hunter Ridge Drive on Nov. 13.
The man has now been identified as Jon M. Reed.

Deputies with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office in Illinois said Reed was last known to be in the Atlanta area trying to get to a homeless shelter. They say no one had heard from him since he sent text messages on Oct. 22.
One of the only clues investigators were able to find with his body was Reed’s red short-sleeved shirt.
Last week, investigators released a sketch of Reed in the hopes it would help get him identified.
