CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — UPDATE: Rocky's was re-inspected and now has a 99.
The owner of a family owned pizza restaurant in Clayton County is apologizing after a failing health inspection.
The owner of Rocky’s on Tara Boulevard in Jonesboro told Channel 2’s Carol Sbarge what he’s doing to fix the problems.
Owner, Mike Capozzoli says he was surprised his pizza and sub place got a health inspection score of 54 on Nov. 29.
Violations included partially cooked wings next to raw wings, roof leaks and cracked walls. Also cold food items were not held cold enough and the inspector observed partial cooking when non-continuous cooking requires prior approval.

The inspector also noted there were some wood surfaces that needed to be cleaned and sealed. Capozzoli is repainting the kitchen and making other maintenance repairs including fixing the ceiling.
He says it’s an older building. Capozzoli says he’s been working 90 to 95 hours a week to make all the corrections.
He says he's also replaced the pizza line cooler that had some food not being held cold enough. He says the temperature wasn't working properly. He says he had just thawed it and
got it going again when the inspector came back.
Some toppings hadn’t cooled enough. Capozzoli says he’s confident the score will be up in the 90s on the re-inspection in the next week.
He had praise for the Clayton County Health Department saying it is good the health department came and helped him see some things that needed to be done. We’ll let you know what the re-inspection score is.
