If you want to watch a movie at this Georgia theater, you’ll need to be vaccinated

ATHENS, Ga. — An Athens movie theater announced that it will be back open seven days a week, but if you want to watch a movie there you will need to prove you’ve been vaccinated or have received a negative COVID-19 test.

“We care deeply about the safety and well-being of our staff and patrons,” Ciné movie theaters said in a news release.

Starting Monday, moviegoers will be required to show proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 PCR test within 72 hours of the start time of a movie at the theater.

The theater said the new rules do not apply for the Ciné Drive-In theater.

The company said if there are any issues with tickets because of the new policy, you can get a refund.

Ciné said the vaccination policy “will be continuously reviewed based on community numbers and CDC guidance.”

The theater also said that its mask policy will remain in effect until further notice.
