Child sex trafficking victim rescued, suspect arrested

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — After a child believed to be traveling back to her mother’s home in Georgia never arrived, the Fayetteville, North Carolina Police Department requested the help of Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.

The juvenile, identified as a victim of sex trafficking, was last seen being picked up from her home in Fayetteville, North Carolina in an unknown vehicle.

The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office Task Force Investigators found multiple online sex advertisements involving the victim throughout the metro Atlanta area.

The victim was safely recovered in East Point and taken to a victim care facility through the work of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team and Homeland Security Investigations.

“Once our assistance was requested, our teams worked quickly to locate and recover this juvenile victim, ensuring she was taken to safety and given the care she needed,” Sheriff Patrick “Pat” Labat said.

An arrest was made in the case, however no additional details, including the suspect’s identity, have been released as the criminal investigation remains ongoing.
