CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — A Cherokee County family says their washing machine exploded, leaving one family member badly hurt.
The family says a small part broke inside the LG washer in May, allowing the top of the washer to blow off.
"The whole top of the machine came off and was holding on by one screw," Connie Lindsey told Channel 2’s Justin Wilfon. "It began to torque around and hit me as I put my hand up to defend my face. It hit me in my hand and shoved me back to the wall."
She says it broke her wrist -- something five months of therapy still hasn't quite fixed.
"My hand, right now, is still a little frozen. That's about as far as my grip will go," Lindsey said.

But Lindsey said she's grateful the accident wasn't worse.
"My grandkids had just been up there with me, so it was pretty frightening that they might have been there, that my 12-year-old grandson might have been hit in the head," Lindsey said.
LG said they won't comment on the case until they have more time to look into it.
The family has hired an attorney. No lawsuit has been filed but they are seeking compensation from LG.
