CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — People who live in a Woodstock neighborhood are worried about a deer seen roaming the streets with a trash can lid stuck around its neck.
"We knew it didn't look right. (My husband) thought it was a purse. He thought it was a bag," said homeowner Amy Hartley.
The homes are built around a golf course. The deer must have stuck its head in a can, looking for a meal, and the lid got stuck, residents said.

"The first time I saw it, I came out with some blueberries and tried to get it to come close. I knew exactly what was on it. It's a golf course trash can lid,” homeowner Joe Croce said.
Residents said the first saw the deer almost three weeks ago. They believe the deer is getting skinny because the lid is preventing it from getting enough food.
Folks have called the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and, on Monday afternoon, a game management officer came to talk to the people who have seen the deer.
We called region supervisor Brent Womack who told us a dart gun with a tranquilizer isn't out of the question.
"These are not tools we like to use unless we absolutely have to," Womack said.
There are up to 1 million deer across the state, but this one is getting a lot of sympathy.
"The poor deer. Last night, I told my husband to try to catch it, so we could (remove the lid). He said, 'I can't run that fast to catch a deer,'" Hartley said.
