In a message to families, the Hobgood Baseball Board of Directors said the fight happened Saturday and involved two assistant coaches with a 12U team.
The board called the incident “completely unacceptable” and said the behavior does not represent the league’s values or standards.
Both coaches have been suspended for the remainder of the season. The coach who hit the other coach is permanently prohibited from coaching at Hobgood, according to the board.
The organization said it has been gathering information and reviewing the circumstances since learning about the incident. The board is also considering whether additional disciplinary action is warranted.
The board said all volunteers who were on the field or in the dugout had completed background screenings.

The board thanked families for their patience and for trusting the organization with their children as it continues to address the incident.
The coaches identities were not released.
