Cherokee County home destroyed by massive fire, officials say

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — Cherokee County fire officials are calling a home destroyed after it was overtaken by a massive fire early Tuesday morning.

Firefighters responded to 218 Sutallee Ridge Court just before 8 a.m. to reports of a smoke and flames coming from a home.

When they arrived minutes later, crews determined that the home was 50% involved in the fire.

The 911 caller also reported that they believed the homeowners had already left for work.

The fire spread to other parts of the home and the two-story house partially collapsed.

Nearly two hours later, at 9:40 a.m., firefighters were able to get the blaze under control.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
