2 new dogs join Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office’s K-9 Unit

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office recently added two new dogs to their K-9 unit.

K-9 “Blue,” a 14-month-old Belgian Malinois, will be working with Sgt. Jared Jordan, and K-9 “Atlas,” a 15-month-old German Shepard, will be working with Deputy Robert Currie.

Both the handlers and K-9s recently completed a nine-week training course in Jasper where the dogs were trained on tracking, building clearing, area searches, evidence searches, and narcotics detection.
