ATLANTA — DeKalb County PD said one person has been arrested, and one person is being sought after a car chase ended in a crash on a major interstate Saturday afternoon.

Channel 2’s Eryn Rogers was live where 75/85 merges on to Interstate 20 for Channel 2 Action News at 6:00.

Rogers and her photographer pulled over because they saw all the lights and a mangled Mercedes right in that median.

The scene is cleared, but police have been looking in this area for the man who got away.

Police said they started a traffic stop for a narcotics violation on Glenwood Road near Glenmar Drive at around 3:37 p.m.

The driver chose not to stop, and DeKalb PD chased the driver. The vehicle crashed on Interstate 20 West near the Interstate 75 intersection.

One witness told Rogers the fleeing car hit one car, then hit the median, spun out, hit another car, then hit a truck head on.

Then he says he saw two men jump out of the car and run.

Police said they arrested the driver but are still looking for the other person.

They found marijuana, meth, promethazine and a stolen gun in the car.

Rogers spoke to one victim who says it all happened so fast.

“We were in the far right lane, and all I saw was a blur of a white car hit me, and I was like, ‘What was that?’” Harry Williams said.

Georgia State Patrol is now handling the investigation..

DeKalb county police say the driver is facing several charges. His identity hasn’t been shared yet.
