DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A busy road is shut down after a driver crashed into a power pole in DeKalb County.

Triple Team Traffic’s Mike Shields reports the crash happened Thursday morning along Bouldercrest Road near Clifton Church Road. Investigators told Channel 2’s Bryan Mims that the driver did not stay on the scene after the crash.

The DeKalb County Police Department said the crash happened around 5:58 a.m.

All lanes are blocked as crews work to remove the power lines from the road. Georgia Power’s outage map shows at least 60 customers in the area do not have power.

Shields says drivers who rely on Bouldercrest Road should use Moreland Avenue, Jonesboro Road or Flat Shoals Pkwy as an alternate.

Officers are still investigating the crash and anyone with information is asked to call the DKPD.

It’s unclear when service will be restored, Mims was told.
