Braves even up NLDS with 3-2 win over Dodgers

LOS ANGELES — The Dodgers held off a late rally from the Braves in Game 1. On Sunday night, it was the Braves turn to do the same.

The NL East Champions kept the NL West champions at bay and Atlanta took Game 2 over Los Angeles, 3-2, on Sunday.

The series now shifts back to Atlanta with Game 3 on Tuesday and Game 4 on Wednesday. First pitch for both games will be at 6 p.m.

Channel 2’s Luke Hetrick will have postgame reaction from the Braves clubhouse, on Channel 2 Action News This Morning starting at 4:00 a.m.

Michael Harris II finished a home run shy of a cycle and Mauricio Dubón also recorded a RBI. One of the Braves runs came off a wild pitch.

And the risk from Walt Weiss to go with another bullpen game paid off.

Ray Kerr pitched 2.2 scoreless innings. Didier Fuentes, just 21 years old, retired 11 batters and was one strike away from four perfect innings. Raisel Iglesias picked up the save.

The only runs the Dodgers scored came on Freddie Freeman and Max Muncy home runs.

With Atlanta and Los Angeles splitting the first two games, the Braves have flipped home-field advantage. The plan is to have Chris Sale start Game 3 and Tyler Mahle start Game 4.
