FAYETTE COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities in Fayette County say a missing 13-year-old boy was found dead Monday afternoon.
According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Javontay Reed, who had autism, walked away from his home on Merrydale Drive in Fayetteville around noon and hadn’t been seen since.
After an extensive search involving more than 50 people from the Sheriff's Office, Reed was found in a nearby pool.
"Sheriff Barry H. Babb asks for continued prayers for the families, first responders, and volunteers, as well as a heartfelt gratitude for all that assisted in the search," the Sheriff's Office posted on Facebook.
