Students in two Metro Atlanta school districts had a disruptive day with bomb threats. Jackson and Hall County schools were threatened.
AI was suspected as the source of the threats, according to officials.
Deputies and officers, including multiple K-9 teams, converged on Jackson County schools.
The first threat was discovered on office voicemail by a staff member around 4:30 a.m. Friday.

“Something like an AI-generated call with particular type threat,” said Jackson County School District Superintendent Dr. Phillip Brown.
“From there, our technology department did a search to see if other schools in our district got a similar message and in total six of our schools received this message,” stated Dr. Brown.
All the schools in Jackson and Hall counties got the all-clear by mid-morning.
The person responsible could face charges of making terrorist threats. Under Georgia law, it’s a misdemeanor, but can rise to a felony if there is a threat of death, according to officials.
