COWETA COUNTY, Ga. — Georgia Power said the “all clear” has been given after a reported bomb threat at one of its facilities Monday.

A bomb threat is under investigation Monday, the sheriff’s office said.
Plant Yates on Dyer Road is currently under evacuation and Highway 16 has been temporarily shut down.
Georgia Power said that the plant received reports that there was “an explosive device on site, posted inside a portable toilet.”
“We take this very seriously,” Georgia Power said in its statement. “We place the safety of teams working to build, maintain or operate our facilities first every day.”
A spokesperson for the company said the incident has not affected their ability to serve customers.
The Coweta County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation is ongoing.
