ATLANTA — Police are trying to determine what happened to a man found dead underneath a tractor-trailer at a Fulton County gas station.

The victim was discovered underneath a truck in the parking lot of a Shell gas station on Fulton Industrial Boulevard and Patton Drive at about 1 a.m. Monday.

Detective Melissa Parker told Channel 2's Darryn Moore it appears the victim was struck by another truck at the gas station. An autopsy also discovered a gunshot wound.

"We do believe he was struck by a vehicle, possibly a tractor-trailer, however we don't know what type of business he was here for. We don't know if there was an incident before he was struck by the vehicle," Parker said.

Police later identified the victim as 37-year-old Jarvis Hester.

A section of Fulton Industrial Boulevard was closed during the overnight hours but opened for the morning commute.

Police said they are reviewing surveillance video from the gas station. They also interviewed several people at the scene, according to Moore.
