CARROLLTON, Ga. — Three bands played Saturday night as part of a benefit to raise money for Aimee Copeland, a college student fighting a flesh-eating bacteria.

The event was at Moon Shadow Music Hall in Carroll County, where Copeland was a graduate student at the University of West Georgia.

Loved ones said Copeland is still in critical condition after contracting a rare bacteria earlier this month.

"We feel so helpless. There is just not much we can do, and so the little bit we can do is try to help her family," Gary Duke said.

Her friends are now trying to ease her medical expenses.

Copeland has lost a leg, foot and her fingers.
